Gahanna voters gave the City the authority to be an electric and natural gas aggregator. Aggregation is the process that allows consumers to pool their utility usage to form a buying group. The City of Gahanna has combined its buying power with the Cities of Bexley, Dublin and Upper Arlington. Combining a large number of users into one buying group provides another alternative for customers’ purchasing allowing them to shop more competitively for utility rates.
    GAS AGGREGATION

Gahanna Locks in Natural Gas Rate for 2010

The City of Gahanna has locked in a rate of $.829 cents per ccf for its natural gas aggregation program from January 1, 2010 through the October, 2010 billing period.

If you are already enrolled in Gahanna’s Natural Gas Aggregation Program and you do nothing you will continue to participate in the aggregation program through 2010.

If you chose to withdraw (opt-out) from the aggregation program, your gas will be provided by Columbia Gas of Ohio at the standard tariff rate. In order to withdraw from the program, submit a written request, stating that you wish to “opt out of the City of Gahanna Governmental Aggregation Program” and mail to Natural Gas Governmental Aggregation Program, PO Box 9060, Dublin, Ohio 43017-0960.

If you did not receive a notice of Gahanna’s 2009 Natural Gas Aggregation Program by mail but would like to join, contact IGS at 1-800-280-4474.

If you would like additional information regarding this program, contact Dottie Franey at 614-342-4005.

    ELECTRIC AGGREGATION
AEP continues to deliver electric service to the City of Gahanna.

While the voters have given the City the authority to act as an electric aggregator, AEP's rates continue to be the most competitive in this area. The City continues to evaluate other suppliers and is ready to implement electric aggregation if it becomes beneficial for the residents.

For more information regarding utilities aggregation, please call
    342-4005.
